 Located in the south of the Beihai (North Sea) Park in Beijing, Beihai Bridge is the border of the Beihai and the Zhongnanhai (Mid South Sea). The bridge is called Jin'ao Yujiao (golden sea tortoise and jade-flood dragon) Bridge, and its old name is Beihai Bridge. Rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty (1522 ~ 1566), the bridge is 150.6 meters long and 6.6 meters wide, with 9 spans. There is another bridge in the Beihai Park called the Duiyun Jicui Bridge (heaping clouds and amassing verdures), the old name of which is the Yong'an Bridge (eternal peace). Its structural form is the same as that of the Beihai Bridge, except that the central line of the former one is curved. At each end of the Yong'an Bridge, is a memorial gateway erected. One is called Duiyun, while the other is called Jicui. These two bridges are the typical old dyke-block-type stone arch bridges in China.
